Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 - Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a small neighborhood situated on the West Island, which is part of the Montreal island. It is a bit of a mystery as the West Island can be confusing to those unfamiliar with its meaning. It is often believed that it's an island to the west of Montreal However, it is actually a part of the city. West Island encompasses everything between the two cities of Lachine and West. Amanda Brugel is said to be born on the West Island. However, it's not the case. Brugel grew on Courtice located just outside Oshawa located in Ontario. She wanted to become a professional dancer, but because of a huge expansion, she surpassed every dance partner she met. She admitted in an article published by The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall and wears heels. When I reached the height of my male counterparts then I stopped. A lot of former dancers go on to act. In the case of Brugel it was the guidance of her drama teacher at high school that led her to the path she needed. It was the teacher who recommended she take on a part in the annual school production. She auditioned and was cast as Anne of Green Gables. She was given an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to attend York University's Theatre Program, where she graduated at the age of 20 with a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. Her career spans 20 years and she has appeared in 60 different productions that have screened on large screens as well as smaller screens. Her most recognizable role was as Rita (pictured in the below photo) in the television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel made an appearance on only a handful of instances in the initial season of the series The Handmaid's tale. She was the only Canadian member.
